These are versions of Python OS that are functional, but not stable. Not all features may work on all operating systems, and some might not work at all. Please help development by finding bugs and e-mailing them to pyoshelp@gmail.com with the version, Python version, Pygame version, application and operating system the error occurred on. Please also include a detailed description, and if possible, Python error.

Changes

Python OS 4.0.0 Beta 2 is released! This beta includes stability and bug fixes, and also revamps the install feature. Installing application packages now works on all OSes. To log in: Open kernel.py with your preferred Python application/IDE. Log in as: username: root password: pythonos. A partial list of commands is available in res/system/documentation/commands.txt To install an app (Included applications are located in user/root/syspackages/): install *path *name - if you are looking for the name, open tha application zip and then the req.txt file. The name is the second line. To uninstall an app: uninstall *name -n OR -kd - -n will delete application data directories, -kd will keep them. Navigating the GUI: Type startg to start the GUI. Move the mouse to the left edge of the screen, a menu will appear. The top icon will open the Applications menu. Click the red square to close the active application. How is this an Operating System? An operating system is a collection of software that manages computer hardware resources and provides common services for computer programs. This just appears to be something that mimics the display of what an OS would appear to be doing.
