OK this is because the script can not access the SDL library . download SDL Runtime Libraries from http://www.libsdl.org. extract and copy SDL.dll in your c:\windows\system32 directory.

I have python 2.4, pygame 1.7.1, ctypes, numpy, numeric, PIL installed. I'm running winxp. ...TheFractalExplorer\SDL\dll.py", line 58, in __init__ raise ImportError, 'Dynamic library "%s" was not found' % \ ImportError: Dynamic library "SDL" was not found If you want the entire traceback, then just email me.

Oh, I forget this requirement : you need the Numpy extension.

it work with 2.5; should be also working with 2.4 + ctypes . can you describe the error. are you on linux or windows ?

Should it work with python 2.4 and ctypes installed? I have those, but it does not run. Or does it run with python 2.5 only?
