Our goal is to create a Strategy RPG in the vein of Fire Emblem / Final Fantasy Tactics based on the Touhou series.

Changes

0.4.1 represents a major under the hood update to the engine. There have been a number of small minor fixes throughout the engine. Please refer to the changelog (changelog.txt) for details. The biggest update is a new AI system that behaves a lot more intelligently than the old AI engine. It is still very much an experimental work in progress. Some features that the new AI system has is that it tries to select the best target and destination in each turn. Support for healing units is implemented but not used in-game. The old AI system just looked for the closest enemy. The new AI system is also able to go after Spirit Source Points as demonstrated in CH2ST1. As far as new content goes, some more dialog has been added to CH1ST4 - Onwards to the Village.

Ah, cool - I just couldn't see the source download link anywhere. Now I have it! Wow, it's pretty cool! My only gripe is that sometimes I had to mash the keyboard to try to figure how to close some menu/interface. An explicit mention on the display of what key to use to exit a menu or other interface would be nice.

If you're not on Windows, you'll have to install Python 2.5.4 + Pygame 1.8.1 and run it from source (Launch by running srpg.py). Click on "Get Source" up in the upper right corner of the download website. I don't have access to other platforms (Linux, OSX) so I don't know how much help I can be with getting it to work.

The game is really good! I played some level and works whitout problems on linux also!

Thanks for the comments. I noticed that ESC for exit to be a problem as well (Namely that I hit it a couple of times). Would it be a good idea to have some kind of intermediate "Are you sure you want to quit?" menu or set exit to something like ALT+F4. I'll look into doing keyboard configuration. Right now all the keys are hard coded into the game. I don't have any access to a Linux machine so I don't know how things work in that OS. Sorry about that.

ESC for end game is an bad choice. Also there should be an way to configure keyboard for those people who dont have QWERTY keyboard. The game could be startet with srpg.py in linux. (Nice launch cmd here.bat maybe is is not so easy as in linux but it is possible to enable explore from here in explorer contect menu)

This is a very good game. Lots of work done into making the full package. =) It'd be nice to have instructions on readme.txt on how to run the game if you're not on Windows, however. I ran this on Ubuntu.
