According to my experiences join also tranforms paths whole strings without ",". This is very bad code, but I don't think this causes this path problem. Does it work, if you change it like dr0id wrote? If it does, I'm an idiot.

os.path.join(str("levels/" + cfg.get("mission","script")))

in this line the join does really nothing! (the path is concatenated as string, I think it is not your intention. Following would make more sense:

os.path.join("levels", cfg.get("mission","script")))

Thank You! I'm using Python 2.6 and the correct pygame version. I know.. the tutorial could be easier. Planes crash if they fly too low or collide. Good luck, too. :)

I gave it another try... what version of Python are you using over there. I'm on Python 2.5, maybe it's not a Mac issue? That said, I forced name="tutorial" and copied the file from mission/script and got your game to run. I don't get it... my plane crash and that doesn't seem very avoidable. Maybe start in tutorial with one plane? Good luck.

Please help to create a Windows version of this game! If you have Windows, you can download the code and try to get it working.

@quazar: Thanks for reporting this problem. I don't know why this happens. Maybe the paths have to be different in mac os?
If you find a solution to t6his problem please let me know so i can help other users.

Something wrong with paths here, OS X and Python 2.5, the game starts but then when I hit B to begin the level:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 1031, in <module>
if __name__ == '__main__': main()
File "", line 402, in main
File "", line 807, in checkmission
lev = __import__(os.path.join(str("levels/" + cfg.get("mission","script"))))
File "", line 895, in __import__
fp, pathname, description = imp.find_module(name)

ImportError: No module named levels/scripts/tutorial
...which is odd since I do have a levels/scripts/ RIGHT HERE

Oh well let me know if I can help debug
