Python PyGame Tower Defence
Python PyGame Tower Defence - 0.8.3Austin Morgan (duckfin)Tags:DescriptionI'm closing the gap to Beta status. I'll be giving this project the Beta tag when it hits version 0.9. I've got a lot of work to go before it gets there, but the game is already quite playable. The basics are typical to Tower Defense games all over.
There are only seven maps thus far. I have not put great effort into balancing them yet, as things change constantly. That said, I played through all of them before releasing this and found them to be fairly spot-on in difficulty, if a bit lacking in variety. Balance will not be a top priority until the Beta, version 0.9.
The art is nowhere close to tops and there is no sound whatsoever. I am neither an artist nor musician. If anyone would like to contribute either, I would happily give credit for your work.

XP per level starts at 10 and increases each level by 50% of the previous level.Implemented support for saving and loading XP states.Added in a Player Upgrade Screen, accessed by right-clicking the XP Bar. Right-click to get out of the Player Upgrade Screen.The Chain Bonus now applies to XP gains instead of tower stats.Tower Upgrade Screen removed, as it is replaced by the Player Upgrade Screen.Player Upgrade requirements implemented. Most player upgrades require at least one other upgrade, shown as a line connecting the two upgrades.Number of available Player Upgrades is shown on top of the XP bar in red.Player Upgrades you currently have are Green. Player Upgrades you qualify for are Blue, or not hued at all if there is an icon image for it. Player Upgrades you do not qualify for are Red.Moved Tower Access over to the Player Upgrade Screen, it is no longer determined by maps completed.Rolled icons over for Player Upgrade Screen.Fixed a bug where losing all a player's lives did not stop them from continuing play.Player.modDict now populates dynamically, making expansion much easier.Killing all enemies in a wave gives 50 plus five times the wave number plus five times the map number XP.Added a new tower: the Ranger; specializing in longer range, medium damage, and slow attack speed.
