Paratrooper - 1.1.2

A loose remake of the classic Paratrooper game (found here) with enhanced graphics and gameplay.

Paratrooper is a game in which you control a cannon at the ground. Helicopters and eventually airplanes fly by and drop respectively paratroopers and bombs, which try to blow up your base. It's your job to stop them and to shoot everything that moves.


Left and Right arrows: change the cannon's angle.
Spacebar/up arrow: shoot, stop auto-shoot
a: enable auto shoot
q: back to menu


Balanced the game. Both helicopters and paratroopers will be generated less frequently. The game has become pretty playable by now; apart from some glitches.

Helicopters now start with a randomised speed. From tediously show to super fast, to keep you on your toes.

Also fixed the highscores. When your game is over, the game will update the highscores and show them to you instead of quit.

Coming in feature releases

In other words: known bugs.
* A fully working options menu.
* Easy, Medium and Hardcode modes.
* Airplanes with bombs
* Other weapons (rocket launchers, guns)
* Enhanced graphics

Hey, you made the PyChat 0.2 thing, right? I kinda used it as a way to make my own chat thing (except it's encrypted/encoded). I hope you don't mind...

@PyMike: I had to change the speed so I could make the 'levels' harder. By now it should be pretty hard to reach 10.000 points. (My highscore is currently 15250)

@Dylan: Too bad it doesn't work...I even changed 'ups' to 'cannons' for you :P Are you running '' ? If so, do you get any errors?

I am kind of hesitant to throw it out, because it was in the original game. I think I will change it in the next release though, because most people find it annoying. If there is anybody out there who thinks this will butcher the game, let me know! :D

This would be more fun if the gun didn't automatically rotate all the way.
