Markie's Revenge - 1

Beerman (beerman)

Markie's Revenge was written for the Retrovision sponsored contest at the 2009 Console Combat Retrogaming event.

The aim of Markies Revenge is very simple. Guide the Sheepie to stay alive as long as possible and don't get killed by the green Markie Ming heads!

The controls are also very simple, pressing space bar to start the game and move around the screen by using the arrow keys on the keyboard.

You can also drink Beer and eat Curry to increase your score, but these also have realistic effects!

5/5 to offset the 1/5 in case the site adds them up or something.

That and the fact that a floating sheep head versus green ming the merciless things is a rather awesome idea. Also nice sparkly stuff.

I was planning to sort out a source distribution, yeah. Need to clean up the folder structure a bit first though, so I don't end up filling it with random development files that aren't used. I'm just a little wary of releasing something on a platform I've not tested on, hence the windows only build.

The 1-rating was a shitty trick though dude. You admitted yourself you're not able to run my game, so how can you give a rating based on that? Would be like me saying Ferraris are crappy cars on the grounds that I can't afford one!

You might want to drop the chip-on-your-shoulder linux zealot act and try just asking nicely, cos you come across as a bit of a dick.

The screenshot of the game seems to look great, but i'm not able to play it - it's only available as ms-windows executable, and it's not running fine on Wine (Ubuntu Linux) - try having a sources option, or at least having pyo or pyc.

The reason is ms-windows is becoming less popular and used day by day, that's a fact, and i also don't doubt you experimented and use dualboot with Linux, MacOS-X, or both in your machine, and always struggles with ms-windows known limitations and security issues, like viruses and so on...

For boosting development joy, try using spritesheets (with subsurfaces) instead of having one picture per sprite - and for multiplatform compatibility (like nativelly on Linux and MacOS-X), avoid having spaces, uppercases, and weird ascii characters.
