GeeZip is a simple application to handle archives. It's mainly for Windows users who have trouble trying to extract (mainly Unix type of) archives. I know I was plagued with this problem until I found WinImp. (but I happen to hate it!) GeeZip currently extracts tar.gz and tar.bz2 archives. I'm also going to add a feature to create gz and bz2 archives.

Please note that this is a pretty early release. I plan to add many more features :-)

Huh. Windows users having trouble using 7zip or WinRar should download python and pygame and path-select a tarball? Can't say your user base is gonna be big, but as long as you keep it interesting, good luck! =)

You're completely right, but it's the only gui toolkit of python that I know :(

I tried tkinter, but it didn't work well, at all. PGU is sooo much nicer :-)

@masterlee: I know I know... I needed a break so I wouldn't burn out on it

@pywiz32: I'm going to make a windows build of it as soon as I get pgu to cooperate

great idea. If you don't have python, check out 7zip or WinRar. WinRar isn't free, but the system to make you register doesn't work correctly, so in a way, it is.
