Description

This is the beginning of a simple turn-based combat game. It will be similar but simpler than 'XCOM: Enemy Unknown' (don't know if any of you have played that old DOS game before). So far the map is filled with grass and grey roofless buldings scattered randomly through it. (I'm making all the graphics in Blender3D) Please test it and give me feedback, and remember this is the very first test on the graphics and such. Much more is to come, including fully animated soldiers and complex scenery!

Darn, no Pygame 1.9 here :( How do we communicate on pygame.org am I missing something? I downloaded your stuff in hopes of finding an email address... Samuel provide us yours, or please drop me a line please, I am callmerob at gmail dot com -- I need a tiny bit of Blender3D work and wonder if you could help me? Thanks!

Looks really cool, man! I love this style of game and would love to create a very complex version so I'd be interested in using your code and graphics when they're done, if that'd be okay. It currently runs reeeally fast on my high-end computer (bought like 1 month ago). Definitely needs to have the scrolling kept at a reasonable rate and could really use a minimap as well so we know what part we're looking at. I can't wait to see what you add to this :)

Thanks! It seemed to run very fast on some computers I tested it on also. So yes I will probably make the window much larger. To make it look isometric, I pieced the different sprite images next to eachother (in the \GFX folder is where the graphics are, all created by me in Blender3D). Bx and By are simply the posistion it puts each spite onto the screen, and mc is the item number in the list for the terrain & objects.

Nice look. Runs really fast on my dual-core craptop, so you could probably make it quite big. Gimme comments! I want to see how you did your isometrics, and the By Bx mc is a mystery. :)

you need pygame 1.9 that hasn't been released for ubuntu.

tested on ubuntu 9.10, got this error: Line8: no module named gfxdraw do i have to install some opengl modules ? -Horst ( horst.jens@spielend-programmieren.at )
