Description

WOH is a 2D turn based strategy game, where the player commands an army in the exploration and conquest of unknown realms, gathering resources and fighting enemies. In the final version there will be enemy armies that will compete with the player in the conquest of the resources, engaging into battles. There will be different scenarios to play, and a scenario editor as well so that new scenarios can be created and modified. Current version is a playable demo with a map to explore and resource spots. To run the game just run the game.py file. All comments and suggestions are welcome!

you are right Eric. I should have used an implemented gui but I didn't at the time, but what I have should do for the rest of the game. Gotta start working again on it after a long break.

You have a nice start on a gui library You probily need to check to see if the mouse button is down or something and then have some change in the button. (I am trying to cheat and use someone elses library for it)

Thanks for your comment sipiatti. It is not possible to recruit soldiers yet, I'm working on the city dialog to allow for that. The idea is that the soldiers will consume food and gold at the end of every turn, so there will be a trade off between having a big army but hard to maintain and a small one that can keep you going for a longer time without finding resources.

I wasn't able to recruit soldiers, and was also hard to find out how I can move. On the other hand it is evident you have a lot of work in it. you need to upgrade the graphic style and sound could improve the gameplay significally. peace.
