Looks confusing at first, and the help being "under development" doesn't help ;P

For files containing UNICODE characters use

# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-

This needs to be either the first line, or the second if the file starts with a
UNIX/Linux/Cygwin shebang.

Try deleting the line that says "# -*- coding: ascii -*-"

...and...

The "globals and stuff" are just variables. eg. screen width, screen height, etc...

hmm...looks like a bus problem. btw i get an error when i try to 'run' a game:

also, looking at the generated code, there's a lot of...globals and stuff. I'd shoot for more object oriented

Want to know why? Try it without sudo. My code doesn't need root access but pyqt4 does. I'm sorry, I'm not the linux guy...

umm excuse me? "needs to be run with sudo?" pray tell why? (btw that's pretty much unacceptable -- a program such at this shouldn't need root access)

Wow! this is what I have been looking for, I love Game Maker, and I wanted a
way to have the same functionality in a multyplatform (and I hope you are careful to make it multilingual so japanese is supported) environment. I realize it is in alpha, but I cant figure out how to make an event that would trigger when a key is pressed. also, what is the name of the python library you used that says import OpenGL.GL I had to copy that directory to my python directory, then I could finally run the generated script on the command line. the run button did not work.

By polish I mean taking care of small details. It may seem small at first but could be a great asset later. For example, syntax highlighting for the code window. You can do that with a library for Python called pygments. And, what right side of the window for? There you could get some sort of MDI (Multiple Document Interface). Of course, this is just version 0.2. I'm looking forward to see what this program will become in the future.

PyGame does the events and sound. :)

By the description, it sounds like it has nothing to do with Pygame. Is this true?

This seems a great tool for making Python games. An is written in Python as well. However it looks like it needs some polish, especially on the GUI.

If you have windows, you can use the Octane binary. It has no external dependencies! You don't need PyQt!

It seems to require PyQt4, which I don't have right now. I'll try it out a bit later on!
