I know that the camera's a problem; I've tried to make it move faster. And the carractor you play as was only a test player, NOT THE REAL THING, so I kept the animations simple.

It would be best if you just let the guy be the center of the camera and be done with it.
In case you were planning to use that map sometime, if you mess up in the later part of the stage you fall into an inescapable pit.
You should add variable animations for the running speeds. I didn't notice that you have to speed up in this game, but when you slow down your legs shouldn't move as fast. In other words, the sprite used shouldn't change every single frame. Or at least when you only have 2 running sprites.

This camera is pretty, especially for "slow" platformers, such as Castlevania or Dizzy clones. I'd be very happy to play a complete game with this code someday.

Cool :) I guess you know this, but when you're standing still the guy is bouncing up and down about 1px per frame. And the camera is quite annoying when it gets backed up. Otherwise, not bad.
