Welcome to Attack Vector, a rail shooter with voxel graphics and retro sensibilities, inspired by classics such as Star Raiders 2 and Space Harrier, but with an original single-layer voxel engine — think digital bas-relief. Enjoy a session of frantic shooting and dodging like in the good old days. Story? What story?
The game as it stands is only a demo, with a single 5-minute level and only three enemies. Currently there are no specific plans to continue development, only vague intentions. :P Warning: gamepad support is untested!

Very impressive. Runs at 40+ FPS on my Mac mini.
Are you actually doing 3D rendering in there or just scaling the images? Either way it feels right and looks smooth.
It was a bit hard to judge the trajectory of the shots but overall very nice. I hope you get the vague intention to carry on!

A very belated answer, but I'm doing actual voxel rendering in 2.5D (the camera can't rotate or tilt, so it's not full 3D, but it's still real perspective transform). I have a newer engine based on sprite scaling, but it's not in realtime and doesn't use PyGame. And thank you for the nice words, but I have no clue how to continue this game; got a newer, 2D shooter that might just end up being finished some day soon. -
