Fri 9:50

Ok, decided on a game. I'm gonna try to make a game where you genetically
engineer sheep. Basically, you play the role of "Moonsanto", a multi-national
corporation. Due to horrible laws in North America, if one of your sheep
strays onto a neighbor's farm, and screws one of his flock, then he is in
possession of genetic material that you spent a lot of money researching, and
guess what, you can sue him for theft of your intellectual property!

So that's the main idea. if there's time, I'll make a way for you to play the
sustainable-farming neighbor.

It'll be a top-down dealy.

Sat 12:15 am

Some stuff works!

Grass "blooms" pop up every 10 seconds, and a Sheep randomly walks around the
screen until he encounters some grass. If he finds grass, he eats it slowly,
then proceeds to walking around.

Graphics are just square blocks with letters in them right now.

Sat 3:09 am

Going to bed now.

So far, you can select a sheep and tell it to go to the Shearing Door. If it
goes in, it stays in for 10 seconds, then pops back out.

There are sprites for the money and for the Lab button, but they don't work
yet.

Sat 10:39 am

Just woke up. Going to Timmy's for some coffee (aka. Programming Juice)

Sat 1:08 pm

Created a "Lab" screen, where you can buy more sheep. You can get more
"regular" sheep, or a "high yield" sheep that grows a little slower, but makes
twice as much wool

Sat 1:56 pm

You can now Lose! (now if only there were a way to win...)

Sat 3:31 pm

Improved the Grass graphics, added fences that collide & block the sheep.

Sat 5:08 pm

Breaking for dinner. I've got fences done, and am almost done the wood-eating
sheep.

Mmmm.. Mac & Cheese...

Sat 7:06 pm

Wood-eating sheep are done. As are Scottish scarecrow. There are levels,
too, four of them.

The sheep run away when they get close to the Scottish scarecrow.

Sat 9:14 pm

Created a "Sheep gun" that will kill sheep if they stand near it for too long.

Sun 1:38 am

Created a rudimentary 2-player mode. I might expand on it if there's
time tomorrow.

Sun 10:56 am

Just got up. Let's see... 10 hours to make all the graphics pretty and finish
two-player mode.. I'm sure it's possible. Ohyeah, and sound. Ok, this might
be a bit of a stretch...

Sun 2:25 pm

added functionality for each level to have it's own background and 'title'
screen. this will let me give instructions to the player at each level

Coffee break!
