nice game, except pygame 1.8.0rc2 doesn't support png format.

Glad you like it, Patrick.
Regarding your 'crakly sound' problem, I haven't that problem.
Anyway, I have opened the thread 'crackly sound in windows anybody ?' at Magicor forums: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=621186
expanding on this.

If anyone is experiencing this or other problems, please post at the forums or at the trackers. Add as a follow up or create a new thread if no one fits.

Finally able to play on Windows. Must say it's a very nice clone of fire + ice. Got some ways to go in the polish department, but it's a blast to play!

The level tiles are nice and animate well, the main character on the other hand is not so good, has jerky animation, and the controls don't feel smooth. Also, I am having a crackly sound problem on windows, which could probably be fixed with an increased sound buffer.

Good work so far, I'm having fun with the levels.

running in windows now. Two threads in the magicor forum sourceforge page with the how to run in windows:
windows instalation - windows adjust
minimal win bugfix for RC1
Tested on win XP SP2 + pygame 1.7.1 + python 2.4.3 , only the game, editor
not tested ( needs aditional module )

Peter: looks nice. Tomorrow I will add to the buglist in sourceforge details and other minor bugs.

No, it will not run directly from unpacked. I wrote win_adjust.py that, well , adjust the files. A litle long to post here, I will post in the sourcefoge forum for the project.

It seems the 1.0 RC 1 is virtually bug free, the ONLY thing remaining for a 1.0 release is packaing.
This is an issue mainly for Windows users, but it would be nice to have deb's and/or rpm's for the most common GNU-based OS' as well.
If someone wants to make a port for BSD that would also be awesome.

If you have been able to run Magicor on Windows directly from the project directory (as it is unpacked), can you please send me the installation instructions?
The current Windows installation instructions are based on my experience of GNU Bash, basically worthless to Windows users. Any help is much appreciated.

I think I can make it work on windows. Send me a mail at "e-nomine-deus-ex@web.de".

I used GNU/Linux for making it.

I've added a small cry for help on the download page regarding packaging for various OS'. Since I don't have Windows I can't make an installer, sorry. Let's hope someone volounteers.

Awesome, a clone of the ultimate puzzle game ever for the NES. I like Fire+Ice much better than Solomon's key. Some of the puzzles are just infuriatingly difficult (but then so simple once you figure it out).

But yeah, poo on having it be install only. Can't seem to make it work on windows. It looks great though, hope you can get a version that works on windows.

if you haven't noticed, not everybody has macs these days. make a version for windows where you don't have to install magicor.
