Description

Sol System has been at war with the alien race for centuries. But now one cadet in an experimental Prometheus Craft can change everything..

Changes

This is our official first release! (Not like those other first releases.) The differences from -rc3 are minor: slightly improved enemy AI, some slightly better dialog, and a more orderly directory structure.

About the sound: Its not the soundfile as far as I can tell. It just sounds as if the speaker is turned up to full volume and you start hearing statics. I ran into this too. It has to do with mixer.init arguments. Changing frequency and buffersize around will fix the problem. I dont know if one setting will work for all plattforms, but it should, since other programs produce clear sound anywhere.
The bullets look strange. This plasma-thing is.... I dont know. I just dont like it. No reason I guess.

Hi, thanks for the criticism. I think the ship is a little difficult to control, but not really hard. Turning speed may be a little bit slower than in (for instance) Overgod, but I think it's just about right. You can't really bob and weave in this game, that's a side effect of the design decision to include inertia.

Thanks also for the tip with py2exe, this is the first time I've used it. As for the debugging output, yeah, it's a little noisy. Ouch, I just reproduced that bug, and yeah, it sucks. I'll see what I can do about that too.

I'm curious what you mean about the sound settings. Maybe you don't like the way the bullets sound when they hit things? What don't you like about the way the bullets look?

Its really hard to controll the ship. Maybe you should redesign the ship, it looks as if it flyes backwards. Turning speed should be increased. The dos box in the background should be removed using "window" instead of "consol" in the py2exe setup script. You should not use print when you have a GUI.
I ran into a bug: When the "real" enemies attack you are moved around in that little box thingy. I used the rope thing, then the box was moved somewhere and suddenly I was outside of the box and outside of the level.
Some grafics like the portrait are good, others like the ship and the bullet are not so well designed.
You should change the sound settings, it sounds like the speakers are broken.
MFG.
