Isn't source platform independent?

Oops. To continue, we've seen a Windows executable and a Linux source. Can we have a Windows source? I just want to learn how to do those cool graphics.

First off, it's a very fun game. Although I can't really say the music was great, at least it's turn-off-able.

alfas: True, I guess you could use than analogy... in which case it is a very very limited SVG renderer. VERY limited. Just strait lines.... might as well be a ini file (would be easier to pare that way.)

Great game, very nice work with the gameplay and the graphics are really nifty.
@JM above: There's no such thing as "rendering in SVG". The lines are described in SVG, but they HAVE to be drawn as pixels somehow. That's what the word "render" means, to take the SVG line and display it in pixels.

I'm not sure if you should consider this vector graphics. It stores the data in SVG but just parses it and uses pygame.draw.aalines. So it doesn't actually render it in SVG and only supports drawing strait lines.

man,took a lil effort to get it running on amd64, but very nice game! i really quite like the way the car handles.

wow. unusual for a game like that to be so small. usually, like in galaxymage, the game is around 14 megabytes.

Im a bit confused: You created it with Linux but offer it for Windows only? Would be nice to see a Linux and a Mac version. Feel free to sell it if its that good. Making the source code free would help that way. ;)

Nice. You could add bots, add a carreer-mode where you start with a slow car (to make it easier to get into the game). Then you win races/money, tune up your car and make the game faster/more challenging. (like: there is a car, medium speed and handling, a motorcycle, really fast, but hard to handle, and a van, rather slow, but great handling and the abillity to make others crash cuz of its weight). Its a good start for a fun game. Maybe its just me, but I get bored quickly driving around in circles with nothing else to do than beat the time. I can understand that you keep the graphics low, but a little overhead banner over the starting point and some other rocks/ramps/trees and a minimap would help orientation.
Ill prolly get bitched at, but there is nothing wrong with closed source. Python is open source, but it does allow closed source programs. Im intrested in the code too, but if you dont want to dont post it.

nice game ! Brings back a lot of memorys of the gaming halls around 1980.. Source code (even parts only) would be really great.

Yeah, a source release would be great, but should never be compulsory..

Since I'm quite interested in seeing how you're handling those vector graphics, personally I would appreciate seeing how it's done.. :)

mainly so i can play it here in linux (its not running through wine, but i think that may be on my end rather than a wine problem)
freezing a linux binary with highscores enabled would be cool too :)

Sounds like you want to take a look at the source. No problem. Give me a few days to strip out the internet scores part and I'll release it. Remember, it's a free game. You don't need to pay anything unless you feel compelled to. :)

85% use macs on pygame, out of that 0.0001% are willing to buy it, and out of that, 0.05% will actually buy it. That leaves 15% that use windows, and out of that 0.0000000000001% are willing to buy it, and out of that, 0.000001% will actualy buy it. It's hopeless, just face it.

I can't beleive you actualy think people are going to use your game. about 75% of users here use macs (but not me), and only 1% will ever buy the game.

It's very likely you will make almost no mony doing this, if not none. And if you don't know this, people are not idiots around here. At least some of them consider decompiling your work, and then editing it to make so they get the best hight score.

actualy, 1.5. Great game, but make the game OPEN SOURCE. You have forgotten the principle of python. Python is free, was free, and will always be free. Not the same thing for your game, I suppose.
