All the sounds I use are free.
This site is really good:

http://www.soundsnap.com/

It's got music loops, lots of sound effects, really cool!

There's lots of little sites buried in the World Wide Web. Just gotta dig em up!

Also when I use sounds I'll take some of the sounds and either clip em or take out pieces of them. Hope this helps you!

Hey guys nice work! (like usual) ;)

I love the particle effects... it's just awesome! Did i say that i love it? Physics used for the game it's very cool too... it gives you a pretty non-gravity sensation. Gfx are pretty simple but they do what they must do... it reminds me Pixelman xD

I encourage you to continue work on it

Regards

>So this is what classic asteroids is like. Cool!
This is not entirely what it really is like. The gfx (believe it or not) are a little more fancy then the originals (since its got antialiasing)

I'll think about that.. If that's an option than that would make the game easier and effect highscores pretty drastically, and since I'm going to have online highscores that might not come to be. I will consider it though...

Yes, I'm going for a more authentic gameplay experience. Update to Asterpods 2 is coming soon! It has a new soundtrack by Jordan Trudgett!

Yes I have played that game! And its one of my favorite GameCube games! Ironicly thats one of my least favorite levels, but it was ingenuous none the less. I'll consider that idea for VectorWars or another upcoming space shooter I'm making (with colored vector graphics :D)

>I like the sound effects for most of your games. Where do you get them, and are >they free?
Yes they are all free. I just google 'free sound effects' and look till I find a sound that suits my needs. I'll see if I can find some good site links in a minute.

Thanks! Yes its called a particle effect :-D

Thanks a lot! Can't wait for another release of Circular and MONIS!!!

So this is what classic asteroids is like. Cool!

Shooting control is a little akward. I was doing bad at first until I realized that if I switch my hands around so that my right (dominant) had was on the space bar, I am able to shoot a lot faster. It gets tiring really quickly, so you might want to include a 'hold the space-bar to fire rapidly' option.

I can't really say the vector graphics are very impressive, but I've always been a sucker for color. Partly because of that, I liked asterpods 2 a lot more. Looking forword to an update for that!

Also, you might want to drop the framerate for the menu.

Ever played Super Mario Sunshine? In the level "Manta Ray Storm," you must divide one giant manta ray into many tiny ones to destroy it (like in Asteroids). When there is a low enough number of manta rays, they will all attack straight at you instead of going in random directions! So instead of the beginning being hard, it's the end that's difficult. Learn from this what you will.

I like the sound effects for most of your games. Where do you get them, and are they free? By the way, the particle effect (or whatever you call it when something blow up) are really cool!
