By popular demand I've released a pared down version of VROOM!!! for Linux under the GPL so people can study and enhance it. In this version the engine revs sound much smoother. This is because I made a couple of tweaks to the SDL and Pygame source to enable a form of variable pitch synthesis. I plan to submit these enhancements to the SDL and Pygame folks soon.
