MicroWar is 'Space Invaders' style arcade game, in the cruel world of micro-compter industry.
You're a Macintosh faced to invading Wintel hordes year after year, kill more PC.
Bonuses let you improve your Mac performances or restore life...

Changes

* handle mouse for menus
* add an option to play the game with the keyboard (default) or the mouse
* loading advancement feedback on splash screen
* default option : fullscreen
* bug fix : display year information correctly for 0 and 1 line.
* first run screen, user can choose it default language (english, french)
* automatic game update check over internet and download to the desktop
* adding Clarus Power-Up Bonus (give 5 super-bomb)
* adding Saucer explosion : generate Virus that can infect PC (slow-down)
* clean the screens handling

I got past the year 2050 once I figured out the cheat codes.

Thanks for your feedback. I choose not to implement life concept, but instead a "free ram" (life bar), when it reach ZERO you died. But yes from 2000 it became difficult, until you got the iMac (power shoot) that could help. I need to refine the balance to make it a little easier from 1998.

Playing it again, I got to 2002 again. Then I got to 2004. All in all, I think it's a bit too hard after 2000.

It took me two games to get to 2002 (that's where I died). I think it would be nice to have several lives, but keep the difficulty otherwise as it is. I see this game as more of a satirical joke--which is good--and so I think there should be more than one chance to get to the end.

To Ian Mallet, Do you feel the game balanced ? Too easy or too difficult ? How many game to go to 2002 ? I've difficulty to choose the right balance. I think that the new PC Win95 (flying like galaxian) made the game too difficult, but you goes to 2002.
